The annual Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival will take place this year in Baku from 18th to 26th September. This marvellous festival is a celebration of the national music and genius of his art – Uzeyir Hajibeyli.
Known for his incredible talent, Uzeyir Hajibeyli is the composer who contributed to the global music heritage. He is an author of the first opera in the Islamic World (“Leyli and Majnun”), he composed the national anthem of Azerbaijan and created a number of masterpieces still loved by thousands of people. In his honour, every year the 18th of September is celebrated as the day of his music, with the continuing feast at the annual festival.
MusIcIAns wIll take over the best stages In the country
This year musicians from all over the world, including US, Norway, France, Austria, Germany, Türkiye, Greece, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Russia, Japan, South Korea and Georgia are invited to participate in the 14th edition of the festival. Musicians will take over the best stages in the country such as Azerbaijan National Conservatory, Baku Music Academy, Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall, International Mugham Centre among many others. Besides, within the framework of the festival, a number of events will take place in the cities of Shusha, Ganja, Barda and Aghjabadi.
